Newsletter-Week #1
This is your child's first week of school. I am thrilled to get aquainted with your child this week. In an effort for your child and I to build a trusting and positive relationship, our class will do many get to know me activities where we will spend time sharing many things about us that make us special. In addition to developing a good repore with your child, our class will work together as a team to developing the rules, consequences and classroom jobs.
The regular class schedule will take place next week. The following is a list of core subjects that will be taught to your child daily.
- Language Arts- stutdents will be expected to read at least 15 minutes a night. Parents are expected to listen to their child read nightly and sign the reading log. Students will take a spelling test every Friday morning. Spelling words will be announced weekly via the weekly class newsletter. In addition to the weekly spelling word announcements, strategies on how to help your child study his spelling words will be included.
- Math lessons will be taught everyday for one hour.
- Science lesson will be hands on where students will do experiments. In additon, language arts will be incorporated into science lesson where the students would have to write about their science lesson
- Social Studies lesson will include lots of reading, field trips, films and class projects.
